Membrane Bio Reactor

MBR Systems for Effluent Treatment (ETP) and Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)

Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is the combination of a membrane process like microfiltration or ultrafiltration with a biological wastewater treatment process, the activated sludge process. It is one of the latest and most successful technologies widely used for municipal, residential and industrial wastewater treatment.

Membrane bioreactors can be used to reduce the footprint of an activated sludge sewage treatment system and yields results that are far superior to conventional UASB based systems.

Our MBR - ETP systems are very compact, energy efficient, customized and require a lower foot-print to accommodate. The up-gradation, modification in the existing ETP system is possible to achieve desired limiting standard laid down by the Pollution Control Board (PCB)

We can provide MBR based systems in a both civil works based models and Packaged Containerized models.

Membrane Bio Reactor: Welcome

Membrane Bio-Reactor

  • Higher concentration of MLSS gives Better treatment in less space

  • Residence time (HRT) of sewage in reactor is low due to high concentration of bacteria

  • Bacterial removal is very good, nearly 100 %

  • The plant takes less start-up time compared to MBBR as the bacterial growth is suspended

  • Sludge generation is less due to high biomass concentration

  • Removal of nutrients like Ammonia, Nitrate and phosphate is superior

  • Operating cost of plant is marginally higher but provides for superior results

Conventional Systems

  • Lower MLSS concentration leads to high foot print of treatment plants

  • Reactor have high residence time due to low concentration of bacterial mass, increasing the plant foot print and civil cost

  • Bacterial removal is very poor

  • Attached bacterial growth (as in MBBR, FAB, SAAF)

  • requires longer time and high level of expertise for operation and stabilization

  • Higher sludge generation

  • Removal of nutrients like Ammonia, Nitrate and phosphate is poor

  • Operating cost maybe marginally lower but results are far inferior
